Season 1 Episode 3 (A New Coreographer)

Will, Terri, and Will’s parents are eating dinner at Will. Will announces Terri’s pregnancy. Terri was shocked when he told them. Terri and Will’s mom leave to see the nursery. Will and his father have a conversation about Will’s nervousness about becoming a father. Will’s father tells the story about how he didn’t have “the guts” to do what he wanted to in life.

Glee practice. Rachel speaks up about the bad choreography because of the advice Quinn and her friends gave her.

Will in Emma’s office. Will is venting to Emma. Emma tells Will about his relationship with Ken. She tells Will that Ken is flawed but there is nothing sexy about a man with confidence.

In the teachers’ lounge. Will, Ken and Sandy. Bobby (the shop teacher) enters, he cut off his thumbs because he was high on cough medicine. Howard (the cafeteria attendant) brings in an ironic cake with two hands on it with thumbs up. Will frets about not knowing how to dance. The guys sing “For he’s a jolly good fellow” to make Bobby feel better. They discover they can all sing.

Will’s living room, all the guys from the cafeteria practice “This is how we do it”. They decide on the name “Acafellas”. Terri’s wife complains about the noise and tells Will to come to bed. Terri desperately tries to get pregnant, Will thinks it’s because he is in a boy-band again.

Will lacks enthusiasm with Glee now. The Glee club debates for a bit and decides to hire Dakota Stanely to choreograph Glee. The Glee club blames Rachel for Will quitting.

Rachel and Finn in the hallway. Finn questions Rachel’s vote for Dakota Stanely. She lectures him on his confidence. She has the confidence to admit that what they shared in the auditorium (when they kissed) was special, and Finn lacks the guts to say the same. Finn asks Rachel if she still thinks they should hire Dakota if it means he quits. Rachel says yes.

Quinn and a fellow cheerleader in Sue’s office. Sue pushes them to get Will to not come to any practices.
She tells the cheerleaders to go after the Glee club members 1 by 1 so she can get her full budget restored.

Mercedes and Kurt in hallway. Mercedes asks him if he’s ever kissed anyone. They have a conversation about how it doesn’t matter because they are in glee club and better than everyone.

After Kurt leaves, Quinn and her cheerleader friend walk with Mercedes and try to convince her to pursue Kurt for a boyfriend.

Acafellas performing at a small venue “That girl is poison”. Emma loves the performance and catches herself swooning over Will, and then yells cheers for Ken. Terri is sitting behind her and gives her a “that was weird” look.

After the performance, Will’s parents congratulate Will. Principal Figgins asks them to perform at the next PTA meeting.

Acafellas in the Teachers lounge. Will reads aloud the excellent review of Acafellas first performance.
Sandy enters and says he wants to be part of the group. He tells the group he will be coming to the next Acafella’s performance. Will tells Sandy he can’t be in their group. Sandy tells them he has connections to Josh Groban and he is looking for an opening act.

Glee club walking to “Vocal Adrenaline” so they can talk to Dakota Stanley about choreographing their group. Mercedes and Kurt link arms. Kurt gives her a compliment and she is flattered. He then asks him to hang out and he tells her that they can watch a Liza Minnelli marathon together. This seems to satisfy Mercedes. They run into a girl puking in the garbage can outside. She tells the Glee club that Dakota is a monster and they shouldn’t hire him to do their choreography. She is puking because she has heat exhaustion.

We see Vocal adrenaline rehearsing; it is very complex and good.
After they are done performing Dakota yells at Vocal Adrenaline to get off his stage.

Outside Glee asks Dakota to choreograph their Glee club. Dakota Stanley tells the Glee Club that he charges $8,000 per number and extra if they make it into finals. Rachel - “How are we going to get $8,000?”

Will and Ken in a classroom. Will tries teaching Ken some dance moves. Howard calls Will and tells him he is quitting Acafellas. Emma enters and tells Ken and Will that Bobby guy is going to rehab for his cough medicine addiction. Emma encourages Will to get new members for Acafellas.

Finn and Will in Will’s classroom. Finn tells Will he is quitting “too”. Will is taken back by the comment and asks why. Finn is tired of being called “Deep Throat” in the football huddles. As Finn is about to leave Will asks him to wait, the scene cuts when it looks like Will is about to give him a proposition.

Ken and (sorry I don’t know the guys name, he’s on the football team with Finn and has a buzzed Mohalk. I’m just going to call him the Jock until I find it out) Jock in the locker room. Jock offers to play guitar and sing for their Acafellas group. He makes it obvious that the reason he wants to be in the group is so he can hit on older women. Ken lets him be in the group but threatens that if he screws it up there will be hell to pay.

Will, Finn and Jock in the music room. Will is playing guitar while Finn and Jock practice. Will has obviously asked Finn to join the Ackafella’s and Finn has accepted. Will is trying to show the two how to dance. After another try they get the steps down.

Rachel and Tina approach Mercedes in the hallway to tell her the Kurt is gay. They don’t want her to get hurt. Mercedes defends her position and says she will continue to hang out with him.

Cheerios are doing a carwash as a fundraiser to get Dakota. Emma and Sue talk about the carwash. Sue cuts Emma down for being OCD.

Mercedes and Kurt are washing the same car. Mercedes asks Kurt to be her boyfriend. Kurt says he’s in love with someone else. After some hesitation he tells her he’s in love with Rachel. Mercedes throws a rock through the windshield of the car they were washing, which was Kurt’s.

Mercedes sings “I bust the windows out your car”. The Cheerios do backup dancing and singing. It’s very music video-like.

Kurt scolds Mercedes for busting his window. Mercedes retorts that he busted her heart and walks away.

Dakota Stanley at glee club practice. He hands the group their diet cards. He starts kicking people out for their flaws and the Glee members get offended. He lectures them about truth and having the confidence to tell them the truth. A lot of Glee members start to leave. Rachel convinces them to stay by saying how a lot of famous people have had faults. Rachel fires Dakota and Glee is behind her.

Acafellas backstage at their first performance getting ready. Finn thanks Will for believing in him. Sandy comes backstage to tell the group that Josh Groban is in the audience.

Acafellas perform. Sandy is singing with them. They are all dressed up in Tuxedos. Terri in the audience is starting to enjoy the performance. They get a standing ovation. Terri notices how much Emma enjoys the performance.

Guys backstage. Josh Groban comes backstage to congratulate them. Josh hands Sandy a restraining order. Josh lists some profane things that Sandy has been sending him and asks him to stop. Josh again congratulates the Acafellas on a great performance before he leaves.

Will and Terri walking to their car after the performance. Terri apologizes for not being so supportive at first, but has now warmed up to his performing.

Josh Groban backstage with Will’s mom. Will’s mom is a little drunk and Josh Groban is shamelessly hitting on her.

Back in the parking lot. Will and his dad have a conversation about Will’s success. Will’s dad tells Will he has inspired him and that he will be going to law school. Will is happy for him.

Mercedes and Kurt in the hallway. Mercedes apologizes to Kurt. Kurt tearfully tells Mercedes that he is gay. Mercedes tries convincing him to come out to the Glee club. He says he’s not that confident.

Sue, Quinn, and another cheerio in Sue’s office. Sue recaps what happened: Glee club fired Dakota and the Glee club is more confident than ever. Sue revokes the girls tanning privileges. As Quinn leaves her office she thanks Sue for teaching her that “When you really believe in yourself you don’t have to bring other people down.” Quinn seems satisfied as she leaves.
